It not only provides a wealth of practical suggestions but it makes clear why it matters to green your wedding. She also explains how easy it is to make at least parts of a wedding more environmentally sensitive. The book is beautifully produced, indexed clearly, and is full of anecdotes and cheerful stories about wedding parties that were truly creative and ingenious. Organic Weddings: Balancing Ecology, Style and Tradition ReviewThis book is a great combination of inspiration and pratical information on wedding planning.
While suggesting ways to plan a more eco-friendly event, it's impressively non-preachy or prescriptive. Several couples are profiled (full disclosure: including myself and my husband), and the variety of approaches shows the many alternatives that exist beyond the conventional offerings of the wedding industry.
As a subject for the book I was concerned about not being "organic enough" to be included, but now seeing the complete version I realize there's no set ideal. Kozin's focus is on how to joyfully incorporate some of your shared values into your wedding.
In sum: I wish we had it when my husband and I were planning our wedding!Organic Weddings: Balancing Ecology, Style and Tradition Overview

I've read other so-called green wedding guides, and they didn't have near the depth, detail, and super cool creative ideas this book has. In addition to a thorough examination of how to green the many parts of your wedding, the creative ideas are really inspiring. I am pretty hardcore when it comes to living eco-friendly, but I still found it had really helpful tips and neat ideas. I don't have the inclination to research every little detail down to where to get eco-friendly nail polish, but thankfully, this book does it for you! There are a lot of web sites mentioned. I reccomend keeping a little pad next to your book to make notes, because you'll want to write down certain things. Also, make sure to buy this (or give your existing copy) to a bride or groom early in the process, so she or he can benefit from the breadth of ideas before settling in on any one thing.The Green Bride Guide: How to Create an Earth-Friendly Wedding on Any Budget Overview
