More Than a Match: The Five Keys to Compatibility for Life ReviewBe aware of a shocker and some un-Scriptural teaching. I enjoyed the most of the details and the conversation style that the Smalley's had, although it was very contemporary and referred to some movie in every other sentence. They also said that it is more than "website profile compatibility" that will lead to a happy marriage, which is true.The parts I did not appreciate were (1) that they advocate serial dating, "so you can get practice" before you date the one that you marry. You are leaving part of your heart with each individual and if you ever get married, you will struggle with comparisons to former dates. Even if you didn't have sex, you are not keeping your love for your future spouse. If you give them diluted, fragmented love; that is all you deserve also.
(2) The last chapter "The Wedding Night", was filled with too many sexual details for my liking. That chapter should have been put into a sex textbook instead. While in the long run, it may be good to know some of that stuff, but it shouldn't break a marriage if one is naive. I am a single male and I read the book because it was written for those in pre-marriage relationships. It was outside of the general storyline. Maybe they were unsure of the book's sales and added that to the end to juice it up.
