Revelations of a Wife The Story of a Honeymoon ReviewThe word honeymoon in the title is misleading. The story actually encompasses the first year or so of Dicky and Madge's life together. Margaret (or Madge) is 27 years old when they marry, and although Richard's (or Dicky) age is never mentioned, I assume he is older. They are rather set in their ways, and both have issues to overcome. Dicky is spoiled, has a temper and says things he has to repent of later; Madge's father deserted her mother when she was four, so she is insecure. It seems that almost everyone you meet in this book has had marital troubles. Abandonment, lying, divorce, flirting with someone else, and just plain jealousy abound. But at the same time, there are lots of examples of understanding, empathy, forgiveness, tenderness and redemption. I enjoyed reading this tale, but it sure took me on a rollercoaster of emotions.
